Gearhead Page

My main instrument is a Yamaha "Bobby Shew" 8310Z(S) trumpet. Other instruments in the quiver include a Stomvi Forte cornet, Couesnon flugel from the 1950s, Jaeger trumpet, Getzen Capri cornet, and a rough old 1925 Keebler, I mean Keefer.  For mouthpieces I use a non-Shew GR "Primal" on trumpet, a Warburton 8FL on flugel and an old Bach 10 1/2C on cornet.  But one might say that because of the "Z" trumpet gear-wise for me, "It's a reeely big Shew."  (ahem)  To stay properly lubricated I quit drinking Bourbon but I use Ultra Pure Valve Oil on my instruments-- I have no idea what kind of valve oil or Bourbon Mr. Shew uses but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to find out. Does Yamaha make Bourbon?  Do you really want me to go on? ....I think not.
